有時我的 iMac 需要整晚工作，但之前一直不到一些方便的方法來將顯示屏熄掉，當然可以在 System Preference 中的 Energy Saver 將熄掉顯示屏的時間調至最少，即是一分鐘，但這個方法太麻煩了，當再次用 iMac 時又要再設定時限，否則隨時不消一回顯示屏又自動熄掉了。

之後又發現有人寫了一些 AppleScript 來達到這目的，要方便執行當然可以用 Quicksilver 設定 trigger 來執行這 script，但要回復原先的設定，又要執行另一個 AppleScript，所以都是不太方便。

今天終於給我找到 Sleep Display 這個軟件了，有 widget 和 application 任君選擇，實在方便得多。

Meebo 一個提供 Web 介面使用 MSN、Google Talk 等 IM 的公司，最近推出了一個名叫 MeeboMe 的服務，MeeboMe 是一個 Flash based 的 chat widget，這個 widget 的功能並不是 Cbox 或 ShoutMix 那類公開的 Shoutbox，而是一個私人的溝通功具，好像將 MSN、Google Talk 的功能放在任何一個網頁上。

如果還未有 Meebo 戶口的話，大家可在 MeeboMe 內設定 widget 之餘順道登記一個 Meebo 戶口，設定 widget 後會有一段 HTML code 給大家放在任何網頁內，所有瀏覽網頁的人都可以在如下圖的介面內和 widget 主人如 IM 般溝通，。

之前才剛剛提及 Yahoo 收購 Konfabulator，Yahoo 已經新增 Yahoo! Widgets 網頁提供 Windows 及 Mac 版本的 Konfabulator 2.1 下載了。:wink:

據 Yahoo News 報導，Yahoo 將會收購 Konfabulator，如果大家不知道 Konfabulator 是什麼的話，Konfabulator 是一套 Windows 及 Macintosh 的軟件，像 Apple Mac OS X Tiger 的 Dashboard 功能一樣，可以執行一些小小的軟件名叫「Widgets」，功能可以是時鐘、計算機或天氣預報等等，現在已經有數百個 Widgets 可供下載，詳細可以往 Konfabulator 的 Widget Gallery 網頁看看。

Konfabulator 是植根於 Mac OS X 的，之後才推出 Windows 版本的，在未推出 Mac OS X Tiger 前，Konfabulator 是在 Mac OS X 執行 Widgets 的必然選擇，但推出 Mac OS X Tiger 後，Konfabulator 在 Mac OS X 的重要性便大不如前了。

今次 Yahoo 收購 Konfabulator，是不收費的讓用家免費使用，至於之前已經付款購買的用家，Yahoo 會計畫退款給最近兩個月購買的用家，而據報導今次收購的主要目的是希望以一個更容易的渠道來開放 API，令到 Widget 開發人士能更容易設計一些 widgets 來使用 Yahoo 網頁的資料。

Yahoo 還計劃將 Konfabulator 擴展至 Linux 及手提電話的用戶，那麼有更多人可以享用這些 Widgets 了。:happy:
