Mozilla Labs 剛剛推出了新產品 - Ubiquity，這是一個 Firefox extension 令到使用者使用文字指令來連接、使用不同的 web services，以下是 Ubiquity 的目標。

• Empower users to control the web browser with language-based instructions. (With search, users type what they want to find. With Ubiquity, they type what they want to do.)
• Enable on-demand, user-generated mashups with existing open Web APIs. (In other words, allowing everyone–not just Web developers–to remix the Web so it fits their needs, no matter what page they are on, or what they are doing.)
• Use Trust networks and social constructs to balance security with ease of extensibility.
• Extend the browser functionality easily.

我自己覺得 Ubiquity 感覺有點像 Mac 的 Quicksilver，一個 browser 版的 Quicksilver，但某程度上比 Quicksilver 更有彈性，因為 Quicksilver 已經規範了所有 command 是在 subject-action-object 的 model 內，而 Ubiquity 這方面就更自由，可以自行編寫 command 或者使用其他人開發的 commands 來達到不同的目的。是否覺得很抽象？看看以下的介紹影片，會比純粹的文字描述清楚得多。

最近在公司自己一人開發一個簡單的 .NET Web app，一來一直沒接觸過 .NET，不知內裡究竟，二來在工作上很久沒寫 code，真的頗困難，選擇使用 .NET framwork 3.5 MVC Preview 3 加 VB.NET 來做，本來想用 C# 的，但公司所有 .NET programs 都是用 VB.NET，所以只好沿用它吧，又要繼續努力。

Web photo album 服務我一向都是使用 Zooomr 的，原因主要是我的 Pro account 是不用錢的，是很久之前 Zooomr 送 Pro account 給 bloggers 時得到的，一直都相安無事，但最近情況有變了。

Zooomr 我主要用來儲存 screenshots 而不是相片，給這個 blog 用而已，所以不需要高的解析度，訪客亦都不大需要看高解析度的圖片，但最近我愛上攝影，相片上載 Zooomr 後，訪客只能看 medium size 的圖片，實在有點不足，亦有朋友因為這個原因向我投訴。

Zooomr 的競爭對手是 Flickr，無論在財力、人力方面都遠遠不及，亦因為在美國很難和 Flickr 競爭，所以 Zooomr 年輕的始創人 Kristopher 將基地轉移到日本，吸納了一些資金，組成了數人的團隊，希望可以將 Zooomr 繼續經營下去。

在 Twitter 中數個朋友談及 IT 界有些無知的人物事情，垂死掙扎 的 Angus 提到一篇文章 Notepad Translation Error，文章內那 vendor 的回應實在令我笑破肚皮。

We have viewed these messages in XMLspy, Notepad and a IE browser, only Notepad shows this as ' the other 2 programs use ", we believe that this is just away that notepad translates these files. If required we are able to look at why Notepad translates these files with ' and not ", however this investigation will not be able to commence until early next week, although our thoughts are that the way that the file opens in notepad, has only clouded the issues... (snip)

亦因為這篇文章，令我認識 The Daily Worse Than Failure 這個網站，我一看網站名稱，第一時間已經將它看成 "The Daily WTF" -> "The Daily What The F*ck"，看過它的 survey 結果文章，原來它本稱 "The Daily WTF"，是最近才改名為 "The Daily Worse Than Failure" 的，不過不要緊，無論如何我也會把它看成 "The Daily WTF" 的 :P。

WTF 是一個給讀者投稿的網站，內容圍繞著一些平時生活工作上一些有關 IT 的可笑、誤解、錯誤的經歷，上文的 Notepad 回應就是一個例子，如果是從事 IT 的朋友，這個網站相信會令到大家發出回心的微笑，因為隨時是一些大家經歷過的事情，亦令我警惕自己不要成為那些不懂但死充的 IT 工作者。

用了 Facebook 已經一段時間，覺得真的非常不錯，很多人都覺得 Facebook 是一個極消耗時間的一個玩意，看你怎樣用它吧。

Facebook 有很多 apps 可以安裝，很多 web 2.0 startup 都看中 Facebook 的人流，努力開發 Facebook app，希望可以從 Facebook 引更多人到原本的 web app 中，只是安裝、試玩 apps 已經可以花掉很多時間，還未計一些很多人都說很好玩很易中毒的遊戲，例如 Warbook。我自己亦曾經歷過不斷試玩 apps 的階段，但歷時很短時間，現只會安裝有用或者真的十分有趣的 apps。

亦因為這些 apps，會收到很多朋友的 apps invitation，對我來說差不多大部份都等同 spam，很多時都會忽略它們罷了，除非是一些有用和真的很有趣的 apps 吧，亦因為這個原因，我真的希望遲些會加入 "Ignore All" 功能。 :P
