新的 PowerMac G5 正式公佈了，正如之前 一篇有關新 PowerMac G5 失望的新傳聞 所講，這次 PowerMac G5 的更新是沒有大的驚喜，純粹是一次 CPU、RAM、Display Card 的 upgrade，正如上一次傳言一樣，沒有 dual-core 的 PowerPC 970MP，沒有新 single-core 的 PowerPC 970GX，以下是三款新 PowerMac G5 的規格．

Dual 2GHz (HK$15,900)

• Dual 2.0 GHz 64-bit PowerPC G5
• 1GHz frontside bus / processor
• 512MB 400 MHz DDR SDRAM (4GB maximum)
• 160GB Serial ATA 7200 rpm hard drive
• AGP 8X Pro graphics slot
• ATI Radeon 9600 with 128MB DDR SDRAM
• 3 PCI slots (64-bit 33MHz)
• 16X SuperDrive (DVD+R DL/DVD+/-R/CD-RW)

Dual 2.3GHz (HK$19,900)

• Dual 2.3 GHz 64-bit PowerPC G5
• 1.15GHz frontside bus / processor
• 512MB 400 MHz DDR SDRAM (8GB maximum)
• 250GB Serial ATA 7200 rpm hard drive
• AGP 8X Pro graphics slot

以價錢以論的確可以說是一次減價，因為之前用 HK$15,900 的價錢只可以買到 Dual 1.8GHz，大概規格只得 256MB RAM、nVidia 5200 顯示咭、80GB hard drive、single layer SuperDrive 等，但是沒有傳言的 dual-core CPU 總是令我覺得失望，亦令我買這個所謂新規格 PowerMac G5 的意慾減低 :( ，全新規格的 PowerMac 何時才會出現呢？

Think Secret 又有一篇有關新 PowerMac G5 的新傳聞，Briefly Additional Power Mac G5 notes; Tiger GM emerges，不過今次是一篇失望的報導．

之前我的 Blog 提過的新 PowerMac G5 的傳言，被今次這篇報導差不多完全推番了，沒有新的 single-core PowerPC 970GX、新的 dual-core PowerPC 970MP，依舊沿用舊的 single-core PowerPC 970FX，沒有期待的 PCI-X 2.0 和 PCI Express slot，完全不是驚天動地的更新，只是純粹一次 minor upgrade，所以 Think Secret 說因為這個原因所以才沒有在 National Association of Broadcasters 中作出公佈，唉...真的很失望． :(

Pentium 差不多正式推出 dual-core CPU，dual-core 的 PowerPC 那時才會出現呢？

之前 Apple 公佈 Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger 時我已經更期待有關 Apple 新主機的傳聞及報導，因為有新的 OS 最好能有新的硬體作出配合才能將新 OS 的功能發揮得更好，況且距離上一次 PowerMac 的更新已經很久了，就算 iMac 和 eMac 不作出更新，起碼 PowerMac 都應該有新一任的接班人，終於 Think Secret 發佈了新的傳聞，而且還言之鑿鑿．

因為我只對 PowerMac G5 有興趣，所以只將新的 PowerMac G5 specification 顯示出來，對iMac 及 eMac 有興趣的朋友麻煩自己瀏覽以上 Think Secret 的網頁罷．

所有新 PowerMac G5 的 model 都會配備 dual-layer 的 SuperDrive，現在 Think Secret 還未肯定新 PowerMac 究竟會用 dual-core 的 PowerPC 970MP 還是 single-core 的 PowerPC 970GX，但我最想知道就是究竟訂價多少，和我有沒有能力將它帶回家中，成為果蘋果用家的一份子呢？
