Mozilla Labs 剛剛推出了新產品 - Ubiquity，這是一個 Firefox extension 令到使用者使用文字指令來連接、使用不同的 web services，以下是 Ubiquity 的目標。

• Empower users to control the web browser with language-based instructions. (With search, users type what they want to find. With Ubiquity, they type what they want to do.)
• Enable on-demand, user-generated mashups with existing open Web APIs. (In other words, allowing everyone–not just Web developers–to remix the Web so it fits their needs, no matter what page they are on, or what they are doing.)
• Use Trust networks and social constructs to balance security with ease of extensibility.
• Extend the browser functionality easily.

我自己覺得 Ubiquity 感覺有點像 Mac 的 Quicksilver，一個 browser 版的 Quicksilver，但某程度上比 Quicksilver 更有彈性，因為 Quicksilver 已經規範了所有 command 是在 subject-action-object 的 model 內，而 Ubiquity 這方面就更自由，可以自行編寫 command 或者使用其他人開發的 commands 來達到不同的目的。是否覺得很抽象？看看以下的介紹影片，會比純粹的文字描述清楚得多。

del.icio.us blog 公布新的 firefox extension 正式推出，功能包括：

• 安裝 extension 時可選擇將所有 Firefox bookmarks import 到 del.icio.us，又或者之後自行 import 某些 bookmark，所有 import 了的 bookmark 在 del.icio.us 上都是 private 的
• 可即時看到最近 bookmark 了的 site 和知道到訪最多的 sites
• 直接在 Firefox 以 tags、notes、names 及 URLs 來搜尋 del.icio.us 內的 bookmark
• 自定 favorite tags 或 bundle 方便以後在 del.icio.us menu 內即時看到那些 tagged 的 bookmarks
• 當然還包括以往在 Firefox 內直接加 del.icio.us 的 bookmark

等等。

新 extension 在功能上和方便度都比舊的 classic extension 過之而無不及，在速度上比 classic extension 快上不少，用起來很爽快，詳細功能可參考 feature overview，當然最實際是自行安裝試用吧。

Firefox 2.0.0.1 Released，這次主要是修補保安漏洞，建議大家盡快更新，正常可以通過 auto update 來更新，又或者可以自行下載。
