Ars Technica 刊登了一篇 iPod nano 的 Review，文中隨了談及一般試用的感覺外，因為 iPod nano 的超簿厚度，很多人包括我在內都覺得 iPod nano 有可能很容易爛的，所以 Ars Technica 就對同一部 iPod nano 進行了一些非常殘酷的測試，包括：

1. 坐在 iPod nano 上
2. 在跑步中扔下 iPod nano
3. 在不同的速度下（8-10mph, 15-20mph, 30mph 及 50mph）在車上扔下 iPod nano
4. 在不同高度扔下 iPod nano
5. 用車子輾過 iPod nano
6. 在 iPod nano 上面跑過

Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 推出了，它有以下新增的功能：

• Automated update to streamline product upgrades. Notification of an update is more prominent, and updates to Firefox may now be half a megabyte or smaller. Updating extensions has also improved.
• Faster browser navigation with improvements to back and forward button performance.
• Drag and drop reordering for browser tabs.
• Improvements to popup blocking.
• Clear Private Data feature provides an easy way to quickly remove personal data through a menu item or keyboard shortcut.
• Answers.com is added to the search engine list.
• Improvements to product usability including descriptive error pages, redesigned options menu, RSS discovery, and "Safe Mode" experience.
• Better accessibility support including DHTML accessibility.
• Report a broken Web site wizard to report Web sites that are not working in Firefox.
• Better support for Mac OS X (10.2 and greater) including profile migration from Safari and Mac Internet Explorer.
• New support for Web Standards including SVG, CSS 2 and CSS 3, and JavaScript 1.6.
• Many security enhancements.
• List of notable bug fixes since Deer Park Alpha 2

但要注意因為是 beta 版本的關係，有可能有不穩定的情況出現，現在有很多 extensions 及 themes 暫時並不相容 Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 的，試用與否就要考慮清楚了。

:: 試用感想 ::試用一段時間，發覺 <Back> 和 <Forward> 時真的比 1.0.6 版本時快得多，之前就算是 back，整個 page 都會 render 過一次，如今應該是 cached 了，所以網頁即時顯示出來，真的用得很爽。

至於 extension 的兼容問題，我必用的 Adblock 及 Tabbrowser Preferences 已經出了支援 1.5 Beta 1 的新版本，至於不支援的 extensions，大家可以嘗試使用 Nighty Tester Tools 這個 plugin 強行將它們變得兼容，這個方法未必一定成功，但我就成功令到 SessionSaver 及 Web Developer 這兩個 extensions 可以順利運行。:wink:

:: Update (2005-09-12) ::之前發現的 IDN Buffer Overflow 問題，Mozilla 已經提出解決方法，各位無論使用 1.0.6 或者 1.5 Beta 1 版本的用戶都請盡快修正。

之前傳了一段時間的使用 Flash memory 的 iPod Mini 終於推出，它名叫 iPod nano，它是 iPod Mini 的後繼者，原有的 iPod Mini 以後不會再生產了。

因為這數天受到極多垃圾留言的攻擊，每天都超過一百個以上，所以在迫不得已底下再次啟動 SecureImage 這個 plugin，從現在起，所有留言者要額外輸入一個六位長的小寫英文字母的安全碼，方能成功留言。

這安排我知道確實是麻煩了大家，但為了防止垃圾留言的出現，希望大家能夠體諒。

Super Mario: Blue Twilight DX（簡稱 MarioWeen） 是由 Ryan Bloom 製作的一個免費的 Mario 2D 動作遊戲，這遊戲還結合了一些 Mario 3D 遊戲的原素在內，它曾在今年8月14日那個星期在 The Daily Click 內嬴得 Game of the Week (#145)。
