Google 公布了 Google Sync for IPhone, Windows Mobile, SyncML 手機，提供了 wireless 雙向同步 Gmail Contacts、Google Calendar 的方法，它和 NuevaSync 很相似，都是使用 Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync protocol 達成雙向同步以及 push data 的功能。

當然和 NuevaSync 相比，Google 自家提供的服務當然較值得信靠吧，身為一個 iPhone / Mac 用家，我會以自身角度談談這個服務，現時 Google Sync for iPhone 的功能是有所限制的，詳情可參閱這網頁。

一直希望可以做到 iCal、Google Calendar、iPhone Calendar 資料如一，在三者其一中修改資料也可同步到其餘的 app，不用限制自己在一個特定 app 作資料更新，Google Sync 起初看來是一個達成這個方案其中一個要素，因為 2-way sync Google Calendar 後，iCal 可經 CalDAV protocol 作同步，但當發現原來一經 Google Sync sync contacts 或者 Google Calendar，便不能再使用 iTunes 同步後，便打消使用 Google Sync 的念頭了。

因為 Gmail Contacts 的功能太陽春，連 first name、last name 也不分，實在不想用 Gmail Contacts 來管理我的 contact list，所以我只會考慮用 Google Sync 來同步 Google Calendar。，但 Mac 的 Address Book 資料便不能同步到 iPhone 了，叫我怎用 Google Sync 呢？要完美同步 Calendar、Contacts，難道真的要用 MobileMe？

Sync: Can I Still Sync with iTunes?

You can sync your Contacts and Calendars either with Google Sync or with iTunes.

Once you've enabled Google Sync for Contacts or Calendar, you won't be able to synchronize this content with iTunes anymore.

應該是我一時看錯，不是一經 Google Sync 同步 contacts 或者 Google Calendar 其一便完全不能使用 iTunes 同步，而是 Contacts 和 Calendar 是各自分開，即是可以用 Google Sync 同步 Google Calendar，而 contacts 依然用 iTunes 同步。
