Habari 最近加進的 Silo 功能，實在是 blogging platform 的一大突破。Silo 是什麼？看看 Owen Winkler 的解釋吧。
The idea is that you can add these "silos" to connect Habari to various image repositories. It doesn't just let you insert images into your blog posts, but (if the silo is configured for it) it will upload your images to that service as well.
簡單來說，Silo 是一個利用 API 來 connect 一些 web media services，例如 Flickr，令到在 Habari dashboard 內顯示 Flickr 內的圖片，方便直接將圖片加進文章內，甚至是在 dashboard 直接 upload 圖片。Silo 的出現令到發放文章的流程更為順暢，大家可看看以下的圖片和 Flickr Media Silo screencast。
其實不只是 images repositories，就算是 video repository，Silo 也可連接使用，Chris J. Davis 就寫了一個 Viddler Silo，效果可看看 screencast，因為 Viddler 的 API 還未正式公開，所以這個 plugin 還未可開放給公眾，但從 screencast 中看到不但可以 insert video，甚至可以在 dashboard 內錄影，真的非常方便。在這個 screencast 中亦看到開發中的新版本 Flickr Media Silo plugin，終於有 image upload 功能了。
Silo 的出現令到 Habari 在使用 media web services 時更為方便，發放文章的 workflow 變得更方便直接，當然首要條件時有相對應的 plugin 開發了吧，Silo 亦令我想開發 Zooomr Silo plugin，但好像 Zooomr API 還未正式開放，要查查看了。
Zooomr 的API跟Flickr 一樣, 而API Key要直接Email攞先有。

neat. I was thinking to write a Flickr upload plugin for Nucleus to upload images from my blog to Flickr just the other day. It's not the same as silo, but working in a similar fashion. Maybe I will see I can do the Flickr to Nucleus as well.
