You may wonder why I felt the need to write a Greasemonkey script for my own product. The answer is that integrations are hard and generally require a lot of effort before you can even determine if they are worthwhile. Greasemonkey lets you experiment with UI concepts with minimal effort necessary from either team (I had to make exactly one change to Reader to better support this script, and that was the ability to force list view to be used, even if expanded view is normally selected). I can't really say what, if any, our integration plans are, but enough users have asked for something like this that I thought writing the script was the most expedient way to provide this (unofficial) feature.
以上只是說沒有 social networking 的 online feed reader 而已，當 online feed reader 有 social networking 的功能時，各個用戶其實在提供資料給其他用戶使用，那產生的可能性便會更多，例如文章的 tag 可以用來搜尋所有用戶 tag 了相同的文章，又或者可以搜尋其他和你訂閱了相同的 feed 的用戶，從而可在其他人的訂閱名單來發現新的 feed 等等。
當然現在 Google Reader 還未有 social networking 的功能，但不要忘記 Google Reader 現在是 under Google Labs 的產品，即是還是實驗性質，social networking 是大勢所趨，我估計將來 Google Reader 都會有 social network 的原素。
Google Reader完全可以和Gmail整合在一起，这样对于Gmail用户会方便很多，不知Google是怎么考虑的？也许是在照顾那些非Gmail用户？
之前 Google 不是很嚴禁使用戶運用 Greasemonkey 的 UserScript 來更動旗下服務的介面嗎？而且聽說違者會被取消其使用者帳號服務，這樣的一個 UserScript 好嗎？

其實Google Reader除了訂閱blog和其他RSS站外，還有甚麼妙用？
既然browser有Live bookmark，為甚麼還要用Google Reader呢？

如果純以 Google Reader 這個 Feed reader 來談論的話，你當然可以說是好像除了閱讀 feed 以外，就沒有其他功能。
但細心看看，就算是一般沒有 social networking 功能的 online feed reader 都比 live bookmark 優勝：
1. 訂閱的 feed 數量少時 live bookmark 或許還可以滿足你的要求，但當訂閱數目多時，例如數十個甚至過百個 feeds 時你就會發現 Live Bookmark 是不夠效率及不夠方便的，Live Bookmark 可以將 feed 放在 Toolbar，但一條 toolbar 一行可放多少個 feed？分數行的話，就會減少瀏覽網頁的可用空間，如果將 live bookmark 放進正常 bookmark 內，要看更新又不方便，online feed reader 就可以提供一個有效率的閱讀環境。
2. 大部份的 online feed reader 都可以標籤某些重要的文章以供日後方便細看的功能，live bookmark 就做不到了。
3. 大部份出名的 feed reader 都提供 tagging 功能，可以方便標籤各文章的 tags，以便分類、整理及搜尋，live bookmark 亦不能提供這功能。

問題小子又來了！
1. 有的blog能提供Entries和Comments的RSS feed，那要追蹤blog的最新動態，是否只需訂閱Comments的feed即可？
2. 有部份blog內頁沒有顯示RSS的link，live bookmark的話可以按網址列最右面的icon，但如果要加入Google Reader便得手動複製，很麻煩呢。有沒有較快的方法？（我試過在bookmark toolbar加入Subscribe項，但我平常會關閉bm toolbar節省位置的）
3. Google Reader內已訂閱的feed，似乎不能更改address，有點麻煩。
由於公司網關重重，看不到這裏的通行密碼圖示，唯有麻煩天佑兄批准了。
還有一個問題：
4. Google Reader與delicious，前者能檢查新項目及預覽，後者則可分享及標籤(Tag)，除此以外還有甚麼分別？現在看到一個有趣的網站，便得分別加入兩者，花上雙重功夫，似乎有點麻煩。有更好的方法嗎？

1. 不是，Entries feed 只得文章，而 Comments feed 只得留言，所以如要兩者得知就要 subscribe 兩者了。
2. 如果你習慣將 Toolbar 關閉就沒辦法了，因為使用 Bookmarklet 已經是最方便的做法。
3. 暫時是不能改變 URL 的，不過我相信這種很多人都需要的功能，在往後版本應該會加入的。
4. 因為兩者的性質不同，要訂閱 feed 就需要 feed reader，要分享及儲存 bookmark 就要 social bookmark software，我想不到有更好的方法，

2. 忘記了如果你用 Firefox 2 的話，就算關閉 toolbar 都可以據著 FF2 的 subscribe feed 功能直接將 feed 加入 Google Reader 的。
